Information about the villa

Beauty is difficult to define and it leaves the beholder speechless and breathless. It may be for this reason that the guests at Villa Benedetta write few words in the guest book.

For many of them it is simply the ‘most beautiful house on the Amalfi Coast'. For others it is ‘ a piece of paradise' or simply ‘ paradise ‘ This is not difficult to understand and we proudly represent it as an authentic jewel of local architecture.

Constructed during the golden age of architecture on the Amalfi Coast, Villa Benedetta was for many years the retreat of two classic Italian ladies; two sisters , dedicated to art and culture, who gave birth to a family refuge perched far away from any confusion, every intrusion, every banality and vulgarity of the world.

It is harmoniously set into the rock, facing and overhanging the sea. Villa Benedetta is the ideal residence for whoever wants to rediscover the pleasures and the tastes of the good life.

Surrounded by nature with dream-like glimpses from every window, Villa Benedetta is the perfect house for staying together and sharing precious moments of intimacy with loved ones.

There are no neighbours to disturb, no noise from the world to upset the peaceful quiet of the breezes off the sea, the light of the sky and the perfume of the flowers.

There are many little angles ideal for eating, reading, napping, chatting, being together, hand-holding and getting back in touch. Terraces, sunning spots, little oases of centuries-old Mediterranean brush and a splendid barbecue area complete the exterior of this home that is completely enveloped in the panorama of one of the most fascinating corners of the Gulf of Salerno.

The interior of the home, with a fully- equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms , living room and 4 bedrooms is comfortable, elegant and rich in style details.

The furnishings are contemporary and the home has all modern comforts including internet service. The beach is directly under the villa and there you will find one of the most beautiful fishing villages on the Amalfi Coast with a little church, bars, wonderful restaurants all scattered here and there along romantic little lanes.

The SITA bus stop which connects to Amalfi and Sorrento and the ‘orange' bus which connects with the centre of Praiano and Positano is a mere 60 steps below the villa.

During the summer season there is boat service for Capri and Ischia and the possibility of private boat rental on the beach.

April 8 – 16 2011 One week in this Beautiful place and surroundings. Two days of rain, which we enjoyed by staying inside, reading and catching up with personal work. You cannot get a better view than this!!!! Katarina Nina Field This villa is beautiful, I swam in the ocean everyday and I could see the villa lying amongst the cliffs…. Tilly Vercoutre xoxo

March 22 – 29 2011 We have been delighted with our stay in this lovely villa. Once we have conquered the 76 steps (who said 60?) each time we revelled in the views! We love watching the fishermen at work in the little harbor, and listening to the buses and tour coaches sounding their musical horns as they approached the tunnel down below. The four of us; two from UK, and two from the U.S. had a great holiday. We travelled around many of the mountain roads in the area, and enjoyed the twisting and hilly coastal roads. We especially liked our visit to Capri (From Sorrento) and Herculaneum, Pompei and Paestum. We enjoyed the wine and chocolates left for us at the villa, and all the other amenities of this beautiful house. We had a couple of great, and very interesting meals of local produce with Salvatore at Bar Mare restaurant down in the harbour, and also samples of the local cake, made by Mama, and the limoncello and limoncello cream, made by Papa! We will certainly recommend this villa to many of our friends! Maria was so welcoming and helpful. We loved her! Denny and Brian Hyder-Smith, Barbury, Oxfordshire. We had a wonderful stay at Villa Benedetta in May.. (we left at 4am bleary eyed and forgot to write in the guest book). The view was too perfect The seafood at Ristorante da Armandino was too fresh The owners at the 'tutti' market were too obliging Our stay in Praiano was too short. It was away from the touristy places and just what we wanted. Many thanks to Tony.

Ciao Tony, We had a great time in the Amalfi Coast. The Villa was wonderful and we highly recommend it. We want to return, hopefully soon. The setting and the views were spectacular. A special thank you for contacting the chef Mario and his wife. We had an amazing dinner for my 50th. The location could not have been better. I will remember it for a very long time. We also wish to thank Maria, who patiently waited for us on the first day and was a great help throughout the week. Your thoughtfulness with respect to the Champagne and Lemoncello was very much appreciated. We had a totally amazing week! The coast was trully fantastic. Many thanks and we hope to return soon!
