Information about the villa

Beauty is difficult to define and it leaves the beholder speechless and breathless. It may be for this reason that the guests at Villa Benedetta write few words in the guest book.

For many of them it is simply the ‘most beautiful house on the Amalfi Coast'. For others it is ‘ a piece of paradise' or simply ‘ paradise ‘ This is not difficult to understand and we proudly represent it as an authentic jewel of local architecture.

Constructed during the golden age of architecture on the Amalfi Coast, Villa Benedetta was for many years the retreat of two classic Italian ladies; two sisters , dedicated to art and culture, who gave birth to a family refuge perched far away from any confusion, every intrusion, every banality and vulgarity of the world.

It is harmoniously set into the rock, facing and overhanging the sea. Villa Benedetta is the ideal residence for whoever wants to rediscover the pleasures and the tastes of the good life.

Surrounded by nature with dream-like glimpses from every window, Villa Benedetta is the perfect house for staying together and sharing precious moments of intimacy with loved ones.

There are no neighbours to disturb, no noise from the world to upset the peaceful quiet of the breezes off the sea, the light of the sky and the perfume of the flowers.

There are many little angles ideal for eating, reading, napping, chatting, being together, hand-holding and getting back in touch. Terraces, sunning spots, little oases of centuries-old Mediterranean brush and a splendid barbecue area complete the exterior of this home that is completely enveloped in the panorama of one of the most fascinating corners of the Gulf of Salerno.

The interior of the home, with a fully- equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms , living room and 4 bedrooms is comfortable, elegant and rich in style details.

The furnishings are contemporary and the home has all modern comforts including internet service. The beach is directly under the villa and there you will find one of the most beautiful fishing villages on the Amalfi Coast with a little church, bars, wonderful restaurants all scattered here and there along romantic little lanes.

The SITA bus stop which connects to Amalfi and Sorrento and the ‘orange' bus which connects with the centre of Praiano and Positano is a mere 60 steps below the villa.

During the summer season there is boat service for Capri and Ischia and the possibility of private boat rental on the beach.

Reviews of Villa Benedetta

It was an absolutely delightful discovery.A true jewel on the Amalfi Coast. Everything was perfect: the location, the villa itself, and the lovely local people ( including Pongo and Nando, two of the local dogs). Our stay was too short; will definitely make it back and this time for a month.

Our stay in the villa has been fantastic. The views are totally amazing. The position of the villa in Praiano has allowed us to see many attractions in the area. The villa is very well equipped and very comfortable for 6 adults. The welcoming flowers and Limoncello were very much appreciated and made us feel at home. From 6 very happy Aussies!!!!!!!!!

We have a relaxed and happy week at Villa Benedetta- we've visited all the villages, climbed the steep cliffs and walked the 'Sentiere degli Dei' ( and got lost), seen 5 snakes, enjoyed tasty Italian produce ( and wine) cooked in the little kitchenand found the village tableau below most interesting. We live by the sea at home , but this is a different coastline altogether. The Amalfi coast is very beautiful.

This is one of he most beautiful locations I have ever been to and Villa Benedetta has been the perfect house to spend this week in.I have thoroughly enjoyed the swimming, sightseeing, luxurious food and relaxation in the villa itself. This has been the type of holiday that I would like to re create year after year here on the Amalfi Coast and hopefully here in this villa! I feel very lucky to have had this amazing experience.

We were a week at Villa Benedetta. It is situated near The Beach La Praia is one of the many beaches set between the rocky ridges of the coastline and one of the romantic walks on the entire Amalfi coast. It is the only bay on the sea di Praiano, and we found the best restaurants on the Amalfi Coast, because we ate the best fresh fish in the world.the only disadvantages of the beach La Praia are the high overhanging cliffs on either side of the bay, with there being sun only during the middle of the day.A concrete walkway starts on the right of the beach. it follows the coastline for about 350 metres, giving the chance to walk as i suspended between the rock-face and the sea. Halfway along there is a small turn off which leads to Torre a Mare, currently home to an art exhibition.
