Going back in time!! We were met by Ms Fortunata at the agreed time and she showed us around the apt. She was very nice a spoke decent English. The dishwasher was out of service. The apt is as it appears, very traditional Italian, almost as if you were at your grandmothers/ nonas house. The apt was very clean as well. Beds a little hard, especially the two twins. It was nice having two bathrooms so we could have a couple people get ready at the same time. The patio is lovely with lots of live plants and wonderful view of the ocean. Very quite and relaxing! The property is 422 ft above the town so be prepared to climb. There is a bus stop just down a couple of flights of stairs that runs every 15 minutes during the day and on the half hour after 5. It takes you around the Internal Positano loop, happy to have had that so near. All in all we had a very nice stay, just wish we had been a little closer to the town. Kelli

“Just about a ten minute walk to the stairs which lead to the beach. Beautiful view from the balcony. Decent amenities in the kitchen.”

We loved our time in Praiano at Maria's place. The house was exactly as pictured and beautiful. Amazing view from the terrace. There are lots of stairs to get anywhere but we knew this and it adds to the charm of this seaside town. The apartment could have been a little better stocked with essentials like toilet paper and there was no shampoo or shower soap which most airbnb's seem to have . But that's a minor issue. Maria was very helpful. She met us in town to show us the way and left us very good information about restaurants and other places. Note many of the restaurants will pick you up and take you home at no charge. We met so many wonderful people, especially Aldo at La Moressa. Be sure to eat there! The same family also owns Windsurf Praiano at the marina, best prices for water taxis to Positano and other excursions. A final note, Praiano is the best place to stay on the Amalfi coast. It is smaller and less touristy than Positano which we visited and is wonderful but not as quaint. Can't wait to return! Tom”

“Thanks for a lovely stay at the beautiful Villino Mariella. It was gorgeous and Praiano is a gem.

The apartment is very comfortable , air conditioned and the view is priceless. Antonio was wonderful and extremly helpfull, however you have to climb 294 steps to get to the house and it's very steep. I am 37 years old and I work out everyday, but the steps are the only downside of the property but everything in Praiano is like that. I just mention this because if u have any mobility issue this place is not for you. FYI dont take alot of luggage or u will pay the price with stairs

“Villa Maria was the perfect place to turn 60. We had a group of 4 women traveling from the States and we stayed at Villa Maria for 10 wonderful days. The location is perfect as Praiano is a smaller village on the Amali Coast and well situated to visit Positano, Amalfi and Ravello for day trips. However, you can return to the village of Praiano where the local people are welcoming and kind and anxious to make your stay happy and memorable. Villa Maria is located near the bus stop and within easy walking distance (with one incline but few stairs) to the grocery and La Morressa, a wonderful restaurant. The staff at La Moressa was wonderful about helping call cabs or providing us with ice to take back to the apartment. So, if you have some people who can't walk the many, many stairs that the Amalfi coast offers, Villa Maria is a good option for day to day life. While it requires more stair travel, the apartment is within walking distance to the beach and we enjoyed several afternoons there. Praiano is split into two sections and we really liked staying on the side above Marina di Praia Beach. This part of Praiano enjoys the morning sun, and is quiet. We had a couple in our group who enjoyed hiking the Path of the Gods, and they started directly from the apartment. There are definitely some good hikes near Praiano and of course, going up and down the many stairs provides a good workout! If you are traveling during the summer, note that there is wonderful air conditioning in the living area so it is nice and cool as you gather. The master bedroom with the en-suite bath also has air conditioning. The bedroom next to the living room does not have air conditioning but Maria will provide a fan. The third bedroom that is accessed from the outside terrace is a big room with two twin beds but the room does not cool as well as the living room. Please ask for a fan. One of the glorious features of this apartment was the beautiful main bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and a spectacular window with an expansive view of the water. So much better than the pictures can offer! This bathroom is off the kitchen so we had several people using it. The main bathroom also has its own air conditioner. The second bathroom in the apartment is actually en-suite to the master bedroom. It is quite small and we found that it was best used by only one person. There is a washing machine in the kitchen and you can dry your clothes on a rack on the patio because it gets great sun in the afternoon. Maria recommended a chef to us (Balda) and he crafted a magnificent feast for my actual birthday that featured local flavors of Amalfi ... shrimp, mussels, bruschetta, caprese salad, wonderful wines from the region and more. We are...”
