Information about the villa

The apartment lies in the upper part of the village, the most attractive and panoramic part, and can easily be reached along a small road about 100 metres from from the road. There is a toll garage. It has been completely renovated with great care and has been furnished with particularly good taste and careful choice in the furnishings, the apartment is equipped with air-conditioning and internet connection WI FI. The large terrace, which looks onto the gulf of Salerno and offers a fascinating view of the sea and the winding amalfi coast, has been furnished with a kitchen/barbecue and a table for dining outside. This wonderful little beach, which is worth visiting both during the day and later, in the evening, can only be properly appreciated once you've seen it in person. In the little piazza and along the romantic path cut through the rock are some excellent restaurants. Positano is about 6 kms away and can also be reached from Praiano using the very convenient public transport. Villa aria has one pay car-parking space that can be booked beforehand by its guests.

Reviews of Villa Maria

“Maria's place was spacious with a fantastic view, easy to walk to with luggage, very close to a supermarket which was convenient and also some good restaurants and the beach. You will need to purchase some basic amenities such as salt, pepper, washing powders and probably extra toilet paper. Praiano is a cute and quaint town which we loved and overall our stay was very enjoyable.”

The view from Villa Maria is amazing! All the bedrooms and the bath open to the deck which looks out over the water! It is clean and comfortable! Praiano is a wonderful little town with very few tourists and friendly locals. We walked down the street to Tutto x Tutti for groceries and to La Morena for cappuccinos in the morning and dinner in the evening!

“Beautiful spacious airy apartment with knock out views across the sea - massive veranda and the best bathroom I've ever seen. Really clean and lovely. There's a great restaurant 5 minutes away and a supermarket 2 minutes from that. 15 minute walk down to a fantastic swim area with restaurants and kudos - Praiano is a wonderful holiday spot. Killer walk back uphill and parking a problem but I'd go back in a heartbeat.”

“Villa Maria was the perfect place to turn 60. We had a group of 4 women traveling from the States and we stayed at Villa Maria for 10 wonderful days. The location is perfect as Praiano is a smaller village on the Amali Coast and well situated to visit Positano, Amalfi and Ravello for day trips. However, you can return to the village of Praiano where the local people are welcoming and kind and anxious to make your stay happy and memorable. Villa Maria is located near the bus stop and within easy walking distance (with one incline but few stairs) to the grocery and La Morressa, a wonderful restaurant. The staff at La Moressa was wonderful about helping call cabs or providing us with ice to take back to the apartment. So, if you have some people who can't walk the many, many stairs that the Amalfi coast offers, Villa Maria is a good option for day to day life. While it requires more stair travel, the apartment is within walking distance to the beach and we enjoyed several afternoons there. Praiano is split into two sections and we really liked staying on the side above Marina di Praia Beach. This part of Praiano enjoys the morning sun, and is quiet. We had a couple in our group who enjoyed hiking the Path of the Gods, and they started directly from the apartment. There are definitely some good hikes near Praiano and of course, going up and down the many stairs provides a good workout! If you are traveling during the summer, note that there is wonderful air conditioning in the living area so it is nice and cool as you gather. The master bedroom with the en-suite bath also has air conditioning. The bedroom next to the living room does not have air conditioning but Maria will provide a fan. The third bedroom that is accessed from the outside terrace is a big room with two twin beds but the room does not cool as well as the living room. Please ask for a fan. One of the glorious features of this apartment was the beautiful main bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and a spectacular window with an expansive view of the water. So much better than the pictures can offer! This bathroom is off the kitchen so we had several people using it. The main bathroom also has its own air conditioner. The second bathroom in the apartment is actually en-suite to the master bedroom. It is quite small and we found that it was best used by only one person. There is a washing machine in the kitchen and you can dry your clothes on a rack on the patio because it gets great sun in the afternoon. Maria recommended a chef to us (Balda) and he crafted a magnificent feast for my actual birthday that featured local flavors of Amalfi ... shrimp, mussels, bruschetta, caprese salad, wonderful wines from the region and more. Upon arrival to Naples I called my point of contact as instructed and was told there had been a problem with my villa and I was being moved temporarily. Upon arrival at this new villa I was greeted by Maria. The check-in process went well and the villa was very nice, except that shortly into our stay we realized the air conditioner wasn't working. We called Maria to assist and she informed us someone would come the next day to fix. The next day no one came. We were moved that evening to our original villa for which they got someone to move our luggage and we had to walk all the way we weren't offered any transportation. When we arrived at Villa Maria it was extremely hot inside shortly after Ms. Fortana left I called to inform that the air conditioner was also not working here. They said someone would come out the next day. They next day when someone came to see it. I received a message while we were out that the air would need to be replaced in the living room and that would take at least two days. I informed them that this was unacceptable and that I either wanted to be moved or credited money. Ms. Fortunata responded by saying that this wasn't her fault and that was it. I asked for Maria to call me and I myself call and texted her several times. She never responded. The air conditioner was replaced two days later and finally we had air. I was told they didn't have a key to come in and repair the air, but when they came they opened the door while my son was taking a bath and scared him to death. The view of Villa Maria is great and the main bathroom is great as well everything else is outdated, ugly, and somethings even broken. There was no awning in the patio, when I asked upon arrival they said "last renters broker it". The washing machine tore up our clothes and there are surge portector cords used for appliances in the kitchen hanging over the sink. I would not recommend staying here or using this company ever. I have traveled quite a bit using VRBO and Homeaway and never received such poor service!
